Hello all, I got this laptop as a birthday gift a Lenovo ideapad 320 15ABR AMD A12 processor with R7 graphics 512 mb ddr4 .
Is there any way to boost the memory to the graphics? it has 8gb ddr4 ram but in the bios there is no option for boosting it.

I Saw something about an external graphics card dock would that help with boosting graphics?

I suggest talking to whoever bought you that system about doing a return and put the money in towards a laptop with a real video card, trying to get yours working with an external dock will cost more and be more of a hassle that I'm sure you want to deal with. Unless your system has USB C thunderbolt support you would need to stick an external PCIe slot adapter inside the laptop, have...
Yes but you also have to buy a graphics card for that

Be careful thou if you buy too strong your port and laptop will limit its performance and you have wasted money

And if you buy too weak it wont boost your graphics performance and you have wasted money

also check if your pc has the necessary ports as far as i know you need thunderbolt for most or remove the wifi and use its port for some

you also need a psu to power the external gpu (unless you buy an external gpu box that has built in like i think razer has)

Allocating more memory for your r7 wont do much thou 🙁
