[SOLVED] Laptop black screen after installing RAM. Keyboard lights up though

I tried to install RAM in the second slot of my dell inspiron 14 7000 series but the computer did not recognise it. I tried removing the other old RAM only leaving the new one which then the computer did not turn on at all keyboard too. I then removed that one and added the old one which worked turning on the keyboard but the screen still stayed black. I might of installed it incorrectly because I do not really know computers (I am a newbie) but what could be the issue?

reinstall the old RAM in the previous slot of the laptop and try booting again. The RAM has to be inserted in an 45° angle completely an than pulld down till the mechanism clicks on bothe sides of the module.

Which new RAM did you get?

The one on the top is the old RAM that came with the laptop and the one on the bottom is the RAM that I had bought. 3200 SODIMM 8GB
