Hi guys,

When this laptop was first purchased a year ago, from time to time I would get a black screen and sound stutter when watching audio, causing me to have to restart the laptop manually by holding the power button.

Initially, I thought this was a cooling issue and I purchased a cooling pad and didn't have this issue again for at least 6 months or so.

Recently, this issue has started reoccurring, and even sometimes crashing while not watching any video.

To clarify, I have gamed thousands (yes thousands) of hours on this Laptop and never once gotten any form of crash or similar issue.. which I would assume eliminates overheating as my setup runs much hotter while gaming.

Please find attached my system info;

Do you have the make/model of the laptop itself?

Hard to tell from that description, but if the laptop has a built in utility for updating drivers and firmware, I'd try to fire that up and let it do its thing.

If not, I'd go to the manufacturer's website and try to download the latest drivers. Be sure to backup important data before doing the later.

The make & model are: ASUS ROG GL552VW.

I recently downloaded a driver updater and updated everything possible, have also done full anti malware/virus scans that came up clean too.
