Laptop black screen

I have a asus rog 503v the laptop screen does not turn on nor does the rog symbol on the front of laptop. the rgb lights on the keyboard work fine. i am able to connect the laptop to a external monitor without any problems. audio still comes out of the laptop as well. i have tried removing the battery and turning it on only using the ac adaptor but the screen still does turn on.

If the attached display isn't working, but an external monitor is working fine, then either the attached display or the cable that connects it are your problem. They may well need replacing.

If it is under warranty, contact the manufacturer. If it isn't under warranty, you can either try doing the repair/replacement yourself or take it to a local tech.
