Laptop boots to windows 8 but then the screen keeps turning on and off

Like the title says, it is working perfectly fine except the display keeps turning off and on in like 2 second intervals. please help

Update GPU drivers and tell me if that fixes it.

Does it doe this if you move the screen backwards and forwards? Is it old? Could be the cable ribbon to the screen.

I would try to return it to Best Buy or send it to asus and see what they can do. Good luck with that, though. I haven't heard great stories from ASUS support.

Check your GPU drivers by searching "Device Manager" in the windows search bar. Then check for yellow markers in the list under display...
