Question Laptop camera won’t work --- uninstall/reinstall works but only until reboot ?

I can’t use my laptop's webcam. The error message says it’s not enabled while Settings shows it is. Device Manager finds the driver up-to-date. Among the default apps the camera is not listed. SFC and DISM commands don't find anything wrong.

The only way I can use the camera is to uninstall and, also in Device Manager, scan for hardware changes. Then it works but still doesn’t appear among the default apps. Upon next reboot it starts again.

The webcam is MS SCB-0340N, the laptop is Samsung NP-R439, the OS is Windows 10 Education 64 bit.

How to fix it for good? Thanks.

In Device Manager > View verify that "Show hidden devices" is checked.

Have you connected other webcams? Perhaps one of them is fixed as the default.

Manually download, reinstall, and reconfigure the webcam drivers even if Device Manager believes the driver is "up-to-date".

Update to either the current driver or perhaps a new version if there is a newer driver.

I opened 'hidden devices', and have no other camera.

With the drivers that I could find all the same. I also tried some driver updater programs, those say my camera driver is up-to- date too.
