So my laptop charger had to be plugged in an area where it was easy for people (myself) to trip over. It was plugged into an outlet right above my laundry basket and clothes would often the cord and stay on it. Well the bottom prong that plugs into the outlet broke clean off. I had to get a rubber gripped pair of pliers to get it out of the outlet. My question is if I can just replace the power cable with one I pick out from Radio Shack or one from some old desktop that isn't being used? Or would I have to contact the laptop manufacturer for a replacement.

For clarification when I say power cable I mean the three pronged electricity grabber, not the power brick itself.

Solution
You can pick those cables up at a computer spares store. Take broken one with you to make sure you buy a new one with the correct female plug that plugs in to the power brick.
