Question Laptop charging issue

Laptop not charging when plugged in, need to reconnect charger 1-3 times to get it to charge ? It's an old dell laptop which came in open box pre-owned with a Targus charger (I have no idea). Been acting strange for a week now, been using it for 6 months.

Given how you've mentioned it to be a Dell laptop, you can parse the model of the unit. You can likewise look through Dell's support page with the Service Tag for any possible BIOS updates. Then we can look at the sort of replacement charge it needs and perhaps a replacement battery for said laptop. Aftermarket chargers are not good, you should work with genuine parts meant for your laptop, matching the model number.

my battery is also a replacement one
a CBD brand model J1KND W7H3N
i dont know which model to get should i search for J1KND or W7H3N or is it the whole model number? please advice thank you!
