Laptop connects to internet via router but kills connection via ONT

After fiddling with the network settings on my adaptor, my laptop started killing the ONT and keeping my isp account connected even when nothing was wired. I have to call my ISP after every attempt to connect my laptop to the ONT directly. I have win 10 64 bit, and my adapter seems to be a Realtek PCIe GBE family controller. I tried deleting and re-adding my drivers, but it didn't solve the issue. Ideas?

The router does NAT and allows multiple LAN clients, understand what am I trying to tell you?

Router does a needed function and you are bypassing it, WHY? there are LAN ports on back of the router if u want ethernet.
