I bought this usb-powered laptop cooling pad some time ago (big mistake) and obviously the power from my laptops usb output was pretty low. I decided to rip off the usb head and use it with this adaptor I got with a 12V battery. It definitely worked much better this way so I said I'll stick with it.
But after about a month of using it one of the two fans on the pad stopped working. So i opened the pad up, hoping it was just some connection thing with the circuit that i could fix. Couldnt find the problem so i went further and opened up the fan. It appears that some part of the circuit is fried.
I don't know much about electricity but it seems like the problem is this little box thing (Maybe the capacitor) I dont want to buy another cooling pad, just seems like a waste of money after all. Maybe I'll get another fan put it inside this one. My question is why and how did it broke? Does anyone have an idea why it's fellow other fan didn't fry up as well?
