laptop cpu fan broke. how long will it last?

I have an asus g750 and the cpu fan broke. Geeksquad said it has a normal cpu temp.

To put it short of you guys its hot but not hot enought to be considered broken.

The cpu heat sink gets really really hot in after effects because the fan isn't working.

Should i open it up and switch the fan? Or should i just wait for cpu to give. With a core temp of up to 100 degrees celcius when rendering. If it does give best buy will replace it. But how long would it take?

Retailers generally won't do squat if it's more than 30 days old. Call Asus .... I'd expect 2 weeks turnaround

The CPU may never actually 'break'. You will just have much reduced functionality as it throttles itself down.

100C in normal operations IS broken. Replace it.

GeekSquad is worse than useless. They actually said 100C is 'normal', and an inop CPU fan is OK?

^This is literally the only example you need for geek squad.

Your options are replace the fan, or see if you can get it replaced if its still under their return policy.

Yeah they said it was running okay and the fans were all working. Which again i have a year of warranty left on it. I was hoping it would give out by then

If the fan failed that is their component failing, not user fault. That is covered by warranty, or should be by any company with customer loyalty.

The fan not running is already broken.

that is laughable that the geek squad claim it's fine to run a laptop without a working fan.....what a joke. You can ebay the model number and install the fan after watching a tutorial video. Shouldn't be more than a 10-20 dollar part.
