I have a CQ57 339wm which originally had a Celeron b800 CPU, but I recently upgraded to a i3 2328m CPU. I upgraded it because despite having higher clock, it also had the better HD 3000. (The celeron had HD 2000). I've been playing a game for about 10 minutes and the CPU temps are already up there. I am worried about these temperatures, but specifically the package temp. The cores can be at around 64-66, but the package temps will be at 72-74c. For some reason HWMonitor reports that it is a 2330M. Here is the txt from HWMonitor. I didn't copy the Thread Dumps because it would make this too long.

Oh man I accidently pushed Best Solution, please disregard this. I still need help.
Yes I applied new paste

The BIOS doesn't have much to offer, not really anything you can change. The laptop has only one fan on the left side and while playing it blows plenty of air. Is it normal for package to be running 6 degrees higher than the cores? Also what is the max temp that I should allow this to go? I wouldn't want to damage the CPU.

You deff wouldn't want to damage the CPU,

here's a link that says a lot about your CPU, it can go up to a max 85 degrees. Other than that, keep the air flow under the laptop clean of dust and debris. You can also check to see if you can free up the air flow inside the laptop, if you want. Just to double check on anything :)
