I hope I have posted in the right section of the forum.

Hello everyone, hoping to get some solid info on a laptop CPU upgrade.
Laptops = Toshiba Satellite L305-S5877 or any of the L305 series, the A215-S4757 and the HP Compaq Presario models CQ56 and CQ62 models.

I have the A215-S4757 and the L305-S5908 Satellite models and both of the Compaq models listed here in the thread.

Would this CPU be compatible for the L305 Satellite without any over heating issues and if I install fan control software? Intel Core 2 Duo T7800 SLAF6 2.6 GHz LF80537GG0644ML CPU Processor 800 MHz

Any info on either or all models will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

To quote another TH post:

"It is possible to upgrade the CPU on some laptops, but you'll need to hunt down a specific mobile processor for it. Laptops are far more picky than desktop PCs about such upgrades. It's a fiddly process, and depends on a couple of factors: whether the CPU is fixed to the chipset with adhesive or had the pin welded to the socket, and whether it's accessible and can therefore be removed and replaced.
Laptops are created on jigs (special frames) that ensure all parts fit snugly and correctly each time one is created. Manually opening up a laptop and doing anything more technical than swapping hard drives or adding more RAM isn't the easiest of processes and will almost certainly invalidate your warranty."

Thank you for getting back to me on this and so now I am trying to find out also which CPU would be compatible with my laptop model. I am thinking that maybe the Intel Core 2 Duo T7800 SLAF6 2.6 GHz LF80537GG0644ML CPU Processor 800 MHz would be compatible but am not sure. Any info there would be great and I am also trying to find the time to sit down and research as well. Thanks again ok. Best regards.
