Question Laptop Crashing at BIOS Splash

I currently have an Asus Strik GL702VM. Recently, it has been having an issue that if a drive 1TB> is installed in the SATA port, the entire laptop freezes at the splash screen. I am unable to get to a boot menu or BIOS. The only way that it seems to be working is if there is either no drive or a drive ~~500G attached. Currently it is running on a 480G drive since that is the only one I had that works.

I tested all my drives and they are working with other systems and they show if up connected externally, however it is just this one laptop that has been having these issues.

Any ideas?

how many different 1TB drive did you try? What the model?

I have tried 3x Cruicial drives (2x MX550 and 1x MX300) and 2x Samsung Drives. I have also tried with 4x WD 2.5" SSHD drives.

I believe I fixed the issue. I had to downgrade the BIOS, after which the drive was bootable.
