[SOLVED] Laptop crashing with two sticks of 2GB ddr2 667 5300 RAM ?

Hi Everyone,

My laptop is hp c6720s core 2duo t5670 processor, window 10 installed. It's working fine with 2gb ddr2 ram in one slot. when i put another 2gb ram in another slot (total 4b gb in two slots), then it's start crashing on window home screen.

Anykind of help or suggestion will be appreciated.

Are the sticks of RAM identical? As in sold together in a kit? It matters. You provided (some) specs, but oddly not the specs of the part(s) in question!

Yes I purchased two stick of 2gb DDR2 so-dimm, both are identical & from same brand & new.

That's not the question. Were they sold together in a single package? Not just whether they're the same brand and model.

No both were packed in different packaging. I mean in 2 different packets.

Then they're not guaranteed to work together. Only sticks sold together as a kit are guaranteed to work together.

This doesn't apply to ddr2 and ddr3. It's only ddr4 that's this picky.

Are you able to swap the original 2gb modules for this new one? It may not be good or compatible with your laptop.

Each module should have a name/model/number of some sort on it. Could you post both of these?

Some of these old laptops (in the DDR2 era) could be VERY picky in terms of compatible memory and timings. Just something to be aware of and this could be one of those situations.
