Question Laptop DC Jack query

Hey all
I have a laptop (Lenovo z500) with a missing DC Jack, and was wondering if it would turn on if the battery was full, or is there a fail safe where the DC Jack needs to be plugged into the motherboard for it to turn on without the DC Jack plugged in

It should run if it's not plugged in if the battery is fully charged. That's how laptops work.
