Hi!
I recently decided to overclock my Nvidia gt555m in my MSI GE620DX laptop. I used Msi afterburner, together with Msi kombustor to do stress tests and benchmarks. I took it slow and built my way up from the standard core clock of 650MHz to 800MHz and the memory clock from 900MHz to 1100MHz.
The stress tests were stable and the temp was about 76° C.
Then I started "Ori and the blind forest", which worked great at first. Then i noticed som glitching in the graphics, (due to the heavy overclock), so I decided to quit the game, and lower the speed. But then suddenly the laptop just died.
I monitored the GPU temps all the time, and right before it went black the GPU were at 83° C, which means the CPU must have been in the 80-90° C. I have played games before and it have reached 92° C without any real problems, (not overclocked tho).
First I thought it was just overheated, but after a night off, it still wont start. When i press the power-button I get no response at all. No lights, nothing from the fan. Nothing.
I checked the power adapter, (the cord and the black thingy) and it still outputs 19 V.
So I just don't understand what have happened. This was my first time overclocking, and maybe I just wasn't carefull enough? My fear is that something is fried or something like that. So please share your thoughts! Any help or suggestions will do!
