Hi,

I'm not sure where to post this.. so i'll post it here.
I have a Sony Vaio PCG-FRV25, Bought it 2 years ago at bestbuy, my warrenty is long gone by now i'd think and i'm nolonger in states. My laptop now after running for few hours, it'll shutdown by itself coz of overheating. This process is especially fast if i'm doing anything graphic intensive - playing games.

Normal work like web surfing and listening to music.. will last me for 2-3 hours before i need to shut it down or it'll shut down automatically.

I can hear a fan running inside my system, but when i put my hand behind my laptop where the air socket is suppose to be, i don't feel any air coming out, which leads me to think my laptop fan is broken and not running.

Anyone have anyidea how to fix the fan? I'm familiar with desktops but not with laptops that much.

THanks in advance.

Try using a vacuum cleaner to suck some of the dust out.
It's tough getting the pieces back in, so if you have never disassembled a laptop before, see if you can find a reputable shop to give it a thorough clean and check.

hmm i'll give it a shot. I tried to open my laptop yesterday... those screws were screwed sooo tight that i couldn't open them... thx for the tip
