[SOLVED] Laptop disassembled

I have disassembled an old laptop, I was wondering about what's the use of this piece: you can see it in the pictures, it is a rectangular piece of rigid aluminized paper, it was stick to somewhere behind the LCD, can I get rid of this without compromising the PC? to me it looks like some kind of electric ground, all I can guess right now.

thats a shield and wifi antennas, so something to do with wifi signal
