Laptop disconnects internet

Hello, I seem to have an issue with my laptop and the internet. Every 5 to 10 mins it seems to just disconnect from the internet. It isn't the wireless internet i have as other laptops in my house work fine and my laptop works with a wire and it happens with different internet connections as I tried it at my friends house. From this im guessing there is something wrong with my laptop but really do not know much about this so any help would be much appreciated, Thankyou.

It could be as simple as your settings for power options, if it is Windows based go into the control panel, select change plan settings for your selected power plan, then select change advanced setting, under wireless adapter setting select maximum performance.
