If you want to use your laptop' display as a second display to your main PC - you can't do that directly (OK, almost - there are software ways to do that. Google shows "ScreenRecycler" as an option).

If you want to use another display as second display to your laptop - just connect it, as long as your laptop has appropriate connector.
