Laptop & Docking Station Recommendation

I've built several desktops over the years (always using the resources at Toms), but I'm now looking to buy a complete solution and I'm going to the expert well at Toms once again. My typical use for the laptop is presentations and coding/testing

I have 2 locations that I use frequently and would like to get a single laptop and two docking stations. I prefer a full keyboard/mouse and large monitor at each.

So I would really appreciate expert recommendations for:

• Powerful laptop - convertible if possible
• Docking station connected to laptop via appropriate port - Thunderbolt?

I'm really looking for best recommendation to connect the laptop to the dock as I I'd prefer that the docking station charge the laptop while docked. And I'd like to use External keyboard/monitor/mouse at each location so I can keep the laptop cover closed.

What sort of a budget have you set for your laptop purchase and your docking station's purchase? You could look into this article about docking stations, though your options might be greater than that. I'm also assuming you want to include peripheral purchases into this purchase window?

Thank you. I've seen that article, but my ignorance about ports relative to charging and bandwidth is showing. I suspect I could find the right dock if my laptop contained the right ports for what I want.

Budget is flexible. I was thinking around ~$1500 for both laptop and dock, but I will pay for the right solution.
