Laptop doesn't play well when not plugged in.

I have an ASUS ROG GL551JM-DH71 which was playing all my games excellent but the second i took my laptop off the charger the framerate and overall quality of the game was just terrible. How do i adjust the battery settings in windows 8 so that my laptop performs at its best even when its not plugged in?

Turn off power saving options when it's on battery, you'll have a few options, set the battery ones to full power on CPU and video card.

Power options you get to through Control Panel.
