Hi! I might need to take this laptop to service, but want to check if there is anything I can try, or if changing battery might help (I would be able to do that I think, and I have a spare).
I bought a Dell XPS 9560 as refurbished. It had issues so I returned it, and when I received it/the replacement back, the laptop now tells me it's a Dell Precision 5530. The refurbishers told me they changed the motherboard, and the hardware corresponds to an XPS 9560. Yeah.
The warranty has lapsed, the laptop has been used very little. It had a slight issue with powering up, which has escalated, and now it doesnt power up at all.
The situation is as follows:
As I push the power button, the keyboard lights up, stays lit for about 30 seconds and then the laptop dies. If the power adapter is connected, there is additionally a sound, probably fans, for 30 seconds. If the power adapter is not connected, there is no sound, only keyboard lighting up for 30 seconds. The screen doesn't come on. Hard reset doesnt work. Power and battery-status light are constantly off, no blinking, no nothing, whatever I do.
Technically that would indicate that the battery is fully charged (or, I assume, that something's dead).
