Question Laptop doesn't start up normally (stuck at the logo screen)

Hi, I am experiencing a weird problem. In the last 2 months, I had to set up the laptop almost 20 times! The problem is it doesn't start up or gets too slow after 1-2 days of giving a new OS. Tried all the windows version. The laptop is 4 years old and I do not use it. My wife does. She just uses it for listening to music and watching movies. I thought there is some virus creating issues. So I formatted the hard disk. But still the same problem.

Any thought?

It's a slow drive (5400 RPM) and the "Caution/Reallocated sectors count" does not inspire much confidence. It might be high time to replace the drive.
