i have a lenovo ideapad z510.i went to youtube to follow a guide but on of my screws on the laptop seem kinda f*cked up so i couldnt remove it.i continued following the video and when i had to remove the keyboard it has kinda borken now -_- i think a new one isnt expensive right?the thing is...i upgraded ram with 2x8gb sticks and i read on lenovo website that this is the max ram for this model. So after i just connected the ribbon cable of the keyboard to the mother board and there is my problem.(also 2 screws were removed as its broken i cant screw them).Every
time i power it on it starts, nothing on screen cpu fan works too ,and after some seconds it powers off by its self.i followed exactly the instructions but i want to ask:is keyboard the problem (and the screws?) i mean maybe something else is screwed with it and motherboard <<protects itself?>> if something isnt screwed i mean..what should i do? thanks in advance 😉

Solution
Yep, since you upgraded your ram its either the ram is incompatible with your motherboard, it can't use 2x8gb sticks (it could only use 1), or they arent seated properly in your laptop.

yes but why does it turn off then? i mean without the monitor it cant turn on? i really dont know just asking 😉 thx for the quick reply 😉

yes ..although [forgot to metion] the fan is spinning and after 2-3 seconds it stops and then the computer turns off

hmhm interesting! tried what you said i got black screen again but i heard a long beeep ! the keyboard isnt connected (as i said its broken now 🙁 ) .does this mean laptop just needs keyboard or it might be something else? Thx very much for spending time on this 😉

That sounds like there is something wrong with your RAM. Remove your laptop battery and unplug the charging cable first. Then try removing one of the sticks of ram you installed into your laptop, then reboot. If that doesn't work, try reseating the ram and try rebooting again (with the charger plugged in with the battery).

so the keyboard has nothing to do with this ? 😉 i will try what you said and post back 😉
