Laptop extended displays

Hey folks,

I recently decided I wanted to create a workstation for my college laptop. The laptop is a HP 15-p030nr I want to utilize the monitors I previously used for my desktop as extended displays for the laptop.

The laptop comes stock with one HDMI port, but I want to have at least two extended displays for working. There are also 2 USB 3.0 ports on the computer, so my hopes lie in USB -> VGA/DVI/HDMI adapters. But I also know that the GPU likely has a limited number of supported displays (which I can't find anywhere).

So basically, I was wondering if there was any way for me to support two extended displays. I don't care if the laptop screen is on since its so small compared to my monitors. I would just be using this as a stationary workstation for when I am not on campus. Thanks!

Solution
Usually, laptops can only handle 1 external display, along with the laptop screen.

2 external displays generally requires a docking station.
For low demand stuff, a USB->Other might work.

I'm not trying to duplicate the displays. I am trying to extend them. This article told me what I already know - that adapters exist.

I need to know if it is possible to set up an EXTENDED display that supports several monitors.

if you go to page 2 of the article it tells you how to extend the displays in a windows OS. of this was not what you were asking either then i do not understand what you are trying to do

edit: sorry, i forgot to mention the GPU in your laptop would have to support 3 displays for this to work

I know how to extend the display, I don't know if I can have more than 1 extended display with my APU setup. Would having an HDMI connection to monitor one + a USB->DVI connection to monitor two work?

sorry if you didn't get my update in time. you will need to make sure your laptop can support up to three displays for it to work. even if it is 2 extended displays your laptop still counts as one

So how do I determine that? Its a rare laptop so I wasn't able to warrant any results from searching online.

A docking station wouldn't work with this laptop though, would it? I need some sort of docking port for that I would assume

Right. Probably not with that laptop.
