When i play Guild Wars in a windowed screen on my laptop screen (main screen), and i right click and move my mouse or something it will right click on the other monitor i have connected to it, but only in a windowed screen, it won't do this in full screen. No matter where i right click in the game on the laptop screen, it will right click on the other monitor in the same place every time. Any ideas why? It's very irritating.

I've seen lots and lots of strange mouse behaviors, but not that one. I'd suggest reinstalling both your graphics adapter and mouse software, making sure you are using the most recent versions of each. For your GPU drivers, I'd reinstall using the CLEAN method, as outlined here in the drivers section:

Also, make sure your monitors are configured as extended displays and not duplicate.

Solution
It ONLY happens when i have this game in windowed screen.. like if i don't have the game up in windowed screen it's perfectly fine. I did check my drivers on my graphics and they are all using the latest updates. I'm honestly stumped lol.

Hello smilemore,

Thanks to darkbreeze for informing me about this issue. I personally haven't had or dealt with this issue. But a small Google search brought up this thread from a while back with another person having similar (almost the same) issues:

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/gw-dual-monitors-t10427276.html

So, what is your mouse model? Have you encountered this issue (or anything similar) in any other game or app?

I've only experienced it with Guild Wars 1 because its all i play atm. When the game isn't running everything is fine.

I use a Razer Deathadder (the green one).

vamp08 on GWGuru sounds like he has the same issue as me, with the same exact mouse.

With the only three cases of this I've ever heard of all having only the Razer Deathadder in common, this absolutely has to be a mouse driver specific issue and would need to be brought to the attention of the manufacturer. Maybe see if there is a newer mouse driver package by now or a firmware update.

If it is a Razer Deathadder issue then it would be with the custom mouse driver (synapse?). If you back off this driver to get to the windows standard mouse driver then you can see if the issue goes away. If the problem goes away with windows driver then agree with Darkbreeze that you shoudl contact Razer. If problem stays with windows mouse driver then confirm it still there without any Razor by using another mouse then contact Guild Wars support.

I actually found a couple of other threads on this that were both driver and firmware related. Try updating both the drivers AND firmware, if you don't already have the latest versions. If you do, you might try an older firmware version as I read one thread where dropping back a couple of versions on the firmware solve the issue for that user. Either way, this is clearly a known, if somewhat sporadic, issue.

Excuse my ignorance, and I'm not the OP who may understand you, but which firmware to update? I've had a deathaddr mouse - it did not seem to have firmware. The MB has firmware (bios) and video cards have firmware (loaded by video driver), disk drive have firmware, etc. I could not figure out what firmware to load.

I see.

I followed the firmware link until it had me select a device (deathadddr) then ended up in a directory with

Master Guides
Razer Synapse 2.0 (Unified Driver System)
Standalone Legacy Drivers

It's possible they make some products that have firmware, and some that do not. Or its possible they have firmware and teh synapse program loads it. They do not seem to have a separate downloadable firmware update. (but i easily could have missed something). Thanks for the follow up post with the link.

I plugged in a Microsoft mouse and had the same issue as the green Deathadder. Then i tried my old Razer Deathadder (the blue one) and the issue still occurred but opened up less right click menus, but still shows up on the other monitor. Idk what you guys are talking about with the firmware versions and drivers and such.. I just know they are running with the latest drivers. Sorry

The suggestion to you was
1. Go into control panel
2. go to add/remove software in control panel
3. see if you have any RAZOR software that controls the mouse. Look for "Synapse". remove it
4. reboot
5. see if you still have the problem.

Let me know if you need more details on any steps. I agree the original request "...If it is a Razer Deathadder issue then it would be with the custom mouse driver (synapse?). If you back off this driver to get to the windows standard mouse driver then you can see if the issue goes away. ..." was really unclear.
