[SOLVED] Laptop fan dead / new fan or cooling pad?

Hello so i saw that my laptop asus x555l suddenly got huge temperatures and i could not hear the fan anymore. I opened the laptop and the fan was not spinning . I took it apart and cleaned the cooler but still nothing. Should i buy a new fan or a cooling pad? The cooling pad is cheaper.

Buy a new fan for sure. They're typically $5-$10.

Cooling pads aren't going to cool the heatsinks as effectively as the targeted airflow of an internal fan. Also, if you ever have to use your laptop off the cooling pad, you're screwed again.
