Looking to get my daughter a cheap laptop for Christmas (ideally sub £220)

She will mostly be using it to stare endlessly at Youtube and to do some bits of schoolwork.

She also wanted it to be able to run Minecraft... not on too high a spec

Is this acheivable? anyone have a laptop they can point me at?

Thanks

Sub £220, nothing really comes to mind. A little below what you can expect to pay for a brand new entry level laptop.

Used market will be all over the place that low, but if any gaming is to be expected I would at least track down something with a discrete GPU.

A little over, but decent enough.

If you have to keep below that, try to at least get Intel HD 620 graphics, 8GB of memory (Minecraft likes ram)

if you are willing to buy used, CeX is a great place to look.
I've found something that fits your budget that is completely overkill

this comes with a 2 year warranty also. I had one of these a while back and it was great. if your daughter ever wants to get into more demanding tasks this laptop would be able to do that easily even if it is a little older. Like Eximo recommended, a discrete GPU for gaming is a great idea.
