Laptop for Business Recommendations

My old laptop I use for my business has stopped working so I'm in the market for a new one. I use it mainly for word processing, book keeping, and emailing. I would like it to be under $1000 preferably.
My son recommended me a small ssd to put my operating system on and than a larger hard drive to store all my files, I have a lot.
Any recommendations would be great. Thanks for your help.

You can find a $500 laptop for general use, what exactly is a lot of files? 100 word documents can take up less space than a few movies. What is the actual disk space used?

I have a lot of pictures along with the documents. I used up about a TB of storage on my old laptop.

If you want the speed of an SSD for boot and application loading and a bit of cheaper setup with a secondary drive, you can customize a system with drivers here https://www.xoticpc.com/custom-gami...ptops-ct-118-96-98/optimal-laptop-series.html Pick one of the cheaper ones, then go to customize and select a second drive for file storage. You can use your current drive for backups, remove it from the old system and get a USB enclosure for it.

Thanks for your help. I've never heard of this website and based off of recent reviews it seems a little bit sketchy. Have you had good experience with them in the past?
