So I'm moving away for University in a few weeks and want to grab myself a pretty decent gaming Laptop for portability

My budget is around £1300-£1500 and would prefer a 17 inch screen, That would run games like Total War, Battlefield, Warcraft and Overwatch. Etc etc.

What would you guys recommend? I've been looking at the ASUS ROG Strix 17.3 inch, but I'm not too sure what to think about it.

Edit: If there's a laptop that doesn't scream "gaming laptop" by design and has a rather subtle look to it, that's great but if there's no other option I'll suck it up

(Warning, im not claiming to be a pro when it comes to computers, Take everything i say with a grain of salt, i just know what i know)

One thing i can say from experience is unless you absolutely have to, do not buy a gaming laptop, desktop is much cheaper and I really never ended up using mine to game anywhere except where I lived, unless I was going to a LAN party or something, but those are pretty rare these days.

Well now that rant is out of the way, il give you an actual answer to the question. Well if you want a good one i would go with MSI or ASUS. Im not sure if there is better alternatives where you live since i live in canada, but they make some pretty powerful gaming laptops. You could easily find a few online, for your price range. I would also recommend an Nvidia gpu, not saying AMD is bad, but Nvidia has treated me pretty well through the years. Maybe you could find one with like a Gtx 980 or a Gtx 1060 inside? Both would perform really well with the games you listed, and unless your playing some extremely graphically demanding stuff, you SHOULD get a solid 60fps on max settings. As far as a processor goes always go Intel, I dont know a lot about processors, but an i5 or an i7 quad core with like 3.6-4.0 Ghz should be good. Now onto RAM, 16gb would be preferable, but i wouldnt see you having problems with 8gb ram, unless you are playing some huge open world game like PUBG or Fallout 4 on high render distance. With all of that in mind you should be good to find one that way, Unfortunately i dont think you would easily find a subtle looking one with those kind of high end specs, but if you can manage to find one like that then congrats. I know i didnt give a specific laptop in this but i hope i still helped you with your decision! Hope you find what you are looking for!

I've already got a pretty high end gaming PC i'm working with, GTX 980TI with an I7-4970K with 1440p 144hz Refresh rate monitor and all that, but i don't feel comfortable leaving that in the student accomidation halls, So getting just as good laptop for me would be perfect so i at least know where it is and still suits my gaming needs.

After spending along time debating with myself In the end i decided to go for a HP Omen 17, I7-7700K, GTX 1070 16GB Ram 17.3inch for £1500
But thank you for your answer!
