Hello I am hopeing to catch a Black Friday sale at Costco. I need a new laptop for my home DJ set up. I do not do any streaming or video editing . I only want the laptop to do everyday stuff, some music editing and be able to run Serato DJ Pro is a must. Here are the spec for Serato DJ Pro and what they recommend:
https://serato.com/dj/pro/downloads?systemrequirements#system-requirements

I found this laptop at Costco:
https://www.costco.com/.product.1755080.html

The specs look pretty good for the price. Anyone have any thoughts on the unit and the spec, and maybe a recommendation. I like the price especially, but willing to go up in price if needed.

Yeah those "recommended specs" are a joke. It says an Intel i5 but doesn't specify which. This tells me that any i5, even an old i5-2500 would be fine. Media platforms haven't changed in, like, forever and I used to DJ online with a Core2Duo E6320 (Desktop model but that was back in 2007).

That is a GREAT deal at costco and I wouldn't think twice as long as you're ok with a 14" craptop. If you wanted a 15.6" (which would have a more full keyboard as a result), you could get one from Newegg for $400 as well:
Lenovo Laptop IdeaPad 1 15ALC7: $400

Specs-wise, the one at Costco is better with a CPU that's 14% faster (R7-5700U vs R5-5500U) and a touchscreen (assuming you care about touchscreens) but I personally hate 14" craptops because their small size means that their keyboards are usually very abbreviated. With craptops, ergonomics are every bit as important as specs, especially if both models will easily do what you need them to.

Hello thanks for the reply. I thought it was a good deal but, needed to double check to b sure. I didn't like the small screen but its not a deal breaker . I will check out Newegg as well thanks again
