Laptop for school and work (not gaming)

Hey all!
If anyone can recommend a laptop, that is only needed for school and work and not gaming. Basically has to be able to run smoothly and have memory, not a ton but enough to download stuff for school. Price range is about 300$....

College/University?

Check with your school and the Department if applicable. They may have recommendations in place with respect to the software you need to have and the laptop's specifications must meet at least the recommended specifications.

Even if not college or uni the same applies: the laptop's specs must meet the requirements of the software you use.

Usually software has three levels: minimal, recommended, "best". Do not go minimal and plan for growth. You may need to bump your budget up some. And be sure to look into some form of coverage for damage, loss, and theft. School is hard on laptops.
