I recently got an Acer aspire e5 i7-6500u with 8gb ddr4 and after using it for about a day I started noticing the laptop randomly shuts off. Not crash and shut down, shuts off like you're holding the power button down, It doesn't seem to have any particular trigger one time it happened after turning the laptop on in class I had hardly done anything. Recently though it's been happening really often (5 times today). I really don't know what to do cos I don't really have access to support services.
It only happens when on battery which happens to be sealed in. It works fine when plugged in.

Event 17 is a hardware error message. Does it say what component it is reporting on?

I should be able to. Just when I was on their support they were saying they no longer offer warranty services for that model which is ridiculous since it was manufactured in June.

kinda sucks i would run a HDD test and a Memtest just to rule those things out
HDD Test:http://www.seagate.com/support/downloads/seatools/ just check the box next to your HDD and run a long generic under basic tests if you can.
Memory Test: http://www.memtest86.com/

Haven't been able to do the memtest, hard drive test came out alright. However, I noticed that since when I disabled the PCI express port causing the event 17, I haven't gotten a crash.

It controls my WiFi card. Is this a permanent fix cos I don't want to get my hopes up.
