I have 8 GB 3200 Mhz ddr4 ram soldered in my ThinkPad gen 2 AMD ryzen 5 laptop. Machine info: Thinkpad e14 20T6
I got new vengeance 16 GB 3200 Mhz ddr4 ram. But after installing the ram the laptop is freezing. Can someone help. I not seeing option to change XMP in bios because may be lenovo does not give option to overclock the ram. Sharing the soldered ram picture. current ram picture

For most folks 16GB total is ample only you know what sort of stuff you run.
As only 1 slot is available the price difference is not too much between 8 gb and 16 gb I bough 16 gb. But now I'm thinking whether this 16 gb is compatible with 8 gb I mean 8 + 16 give better performance of 8+8.
Currently, 16 Gb is enough but by next year 16 Gb will not be enough and I don't want to again purchase 16 GB.

I installed 8 Gb 3200 Mhz recommended by Crucial. I installed 8 Gb on Thursday and then run bios memory test and for that, I got a pass without any error. Now today (Sunday) the laptop stuck and again got the blue screen. Laptop was fine on Friday and Saturday and got a random crash on Sunday.

I did perform a memory test using bios and haven't found any issues. However, when I was doing the memtest in Windows it passes till %116 and kept going meanwhile my laptop freezes and got a blue screen.
Now I removed the ram and it is working fine. No issue at all.
