A friend of mine has a laptop about two years old. It is running Windows 8.When he types into MS Word or an address into Firefox, the laptop freezes. The only way of unfreezing it is to press the start button (I think he means the start button on the front of the PC, he didn't make that clear).
He has scanned it with AVG (free version) and Malware Bytes (free version) but didn't get back any viruses.

Sorry I can't give more information but I haven't actually seen the problem myself first hand.
