Laptop getting disconnected every few minutes

For the last few weeks my laptop has been getting randomly disconnected from our home wifi every 2-60 minutes (pretty random how long it will be). I've tried updating my wifi card drivers, resetting the router, troubleshooting on my laptop. Nothing has helped and it seems to be getting disconnected more often lately. None of my other devices get disconnected so it must be to do with the laptop. Any help?

Solution
Go into the Device Manager applet in Control panel, double click on Network adapters, double click on your wireless networking adapter to bring up its properties and on the power management tab uncheck the box that says "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". Save settings and reboot.

If that does not cure the issue we can tweak a few other settings to see if they are related.

Yeah sorry I forgot to mention that I already tried this, it didn't make a difference

I believe it is just over 3 years old, the model number is A9L94PA#ABG, the laptop is a HP pavilion dm4

I'll get back to you on this after while. I'll need to do a little investigation on the wireless adapter used on that model, plus I have an appointment so I'll take a look when I get back. It wouldn't be entirely unususal for the wireless adapter to have taken a powder. The heat inside laptop cases is sometimes rough on components.
