Hi All,

I cannot seem to get the GeForce GTX 870M in my laptop to function. I'm not sure if it's an OS compatibility issue, drivers or if it's just fried. I'd love a way to determine which it is.

Device Manager: "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"

Laptop: MSI GS Series GS60 Ghost Pro 3K-097 Gaming Laptop 4th Generation Intel Core i7 4710HQ (2.50 GHz) 16 GB Memory 1 TB HDD 128 GB SSD NVIDIA GeForce GTX 870M 3GB GDDR5 15.6" 3K Windows 8.1 64-Bit

What I've tried: I've uninstalled the drivers and all NVIDIA software, in Safe Mode, and then re-installed all of the drivers. Still fails upon startup. I have not figured out how to find legacy drivers yet to find out if those will work. How can I test the card itself to see if it works?

Hi,

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may resolve the issue.
- Uninstall the graphics card driver from Device Manager same goes in Programs and Feature anything related to NVIDIA.
- Download and install the latest driver from NVIDIA support site.
- Here's the link: nvidia.com/download/index.aspx
- Reboot the laptop for all the changes to take effect.
