every time i play games, after 5-10 minutes the laptop goes to sleep.

Asus ROG
i7 7700 2.80Ghz
GTX 1070
24GB RAM

using HDMI and the display lid is closed and using logitech wireless mouse M170 and logitech K400+ wireless keyboard with 2 different usb adapters.

i've been using this a while to play, but it started to happen lately.

A lot of these high-end gaming laptops draw more power than their AC adapter can provide while you're gaming. Consequently, they slowly drain power from the battery as you play, even though it's plugged in. If you're gaming with the battery in a low charge state, or the battery is defective, I could see it triggering Windows to go into sleep because of a low battery. Try changing the Windows power options so it doesn't go to sleep when the battery state is low or critical.

nope, i tried using ethernet instead of wifi, removed all usbs that i had and playing with ps4 controller and xbox one controller, exactly 5 minutes and it goes to bed

its sleeps after 5 minutes, i've been using high performance, actually i created my own plan, still it sleeps after 5 minutes. nothing is showing 5 minutes

So, I have found the solution, at least for me.

I had the same problem, and when searching for information about "ASUS laptop going randomly to sleep", this post comes high in the search.

It was my metallic BRACELT WITH A MAGNET that I wear on the left hand, that touches the area left of the mousepad (left corner of laptop). There seems to be something reacting to the magnet/bracelet, and the laptop thinks the lid/screen is closed, and it goes into sleep mode!

I have tested this several times now, and yes, this really was the problem for me. Feel a little dumb after searching the net for answers and updating all drivers etc, but anyway, now the computer works again (and hasn't gone to sleep for 6 months, while before, everyday).

Hope this helps someone out in the future!
