Laptop graphics card problem.

Hello,

Couple of days back, I dropped my laptop due to which, my laptop only started when my lid was half closed. Now, my laptop does not start at all, keeps restarting.
I took it to the shop and he said that my graphics card was broken and I need to replace it.

Could it be the real reason behind the problem?

If your graphics card is a dedicated one, you may try to remove it, and run from integrated graphics. But since you stated that the laptop keeps restarting, there's LIKELY going to be more problems than just the graphics card.

Earlier, I forgot to mention my specs. So, I've got

Lenovo y700
intel i7 6700HQ
16GB DDR4 RAM
Gtx 960m Graphics card

I am concerned, if this laptop provides a replaceable option for graphics card.
He even said, I can even upgrade my Graphics to fairly new model.
Is that even possible in this laptop?
If it is possible, what would be the price?

There is a silver lining. Since your laptop has a discrete graphics card, it won't be integrated into the motherboard but instead, it's connected via a MXM type A slot. You can replace the graphics card with a similar one or a better one that can also fit into your laptop. However, there is no official way of purchasing MXM cards, so eBay or similar is going to be the only way.

Since this is a discrete GPU were are talking about, it will depend on what MXM card you will decide to get. It's often going to be over $80-100 USD.
