laptop hanging a lot!!

I have a lenovo g470 laptop. Since few days it has started hanging a lot. A weird sound is coming too from inside,so i opened it up and cleaned the fan and the heat sink, but it did not solve the problem. So i reinstalled the windows which resolved the hanging problem for 2 days. But now it has started hanging again. The windows take 20-25 mins to boot and once I get the home screen, the system freezes. Please help guys. What can be the problem? Is it the fan, ram or motherboard?

Most likely causes are overheating, failing HDD, or failing RAM. Use HWinfo to check your temps, do a full HDD check (chkdsk), use Memtest 86+ to fully test your RAM. Good luck.
