Laptop Hard Drive as main HDD in a desktop?

I'm about to finish building my new PC and had an idea to put my laptops hard drive in the desktop, install windows on it and use it till I get the money to buy a proper Hard drive for files and stuff but would it be possible to use my desktop with just the laptop hard drive?

Yes you can. Probably won't be the fastest thing around, but it's just another drive.
My wife's PC is like that.
