So my question is I just upgraded my laptop with a new ssd, the laptop. I wanted to connect the old hard drive to the desktop, it still has windows 8 on it with whatever the hd had on it, I did but the computer wont boot and just loops the bios screen. I want to remove the info on that harddrive, but my question is how do i go about doing. I want to use the laptop hd for storage i have 2 ssd on my desktop.

Solution
Boot off your normal disk, search for computer management and open it, select disk management, right click on the disk you want to erase and click format.
Open a command prompt as administrator. Type Diskpart in the command prompt. In Diskpart enter rescan. Then type list disk. Select the disk that contains the partition you want to remove, By select disk (Number). Check this is the right disk. Type list partition. Type in delete ( Recovery Partition Name) override.
