Laptop Hardrive To Work On My Desktop Motherboard??

I'm building anew PC and was wondering if I could reuse my old HDD on my new PC, to work with this motherboard - Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P ATX AM3+ Motherboard. The problem is I have no idea what cable the HDD from laptop is called and what I need so please could someone take a look.

You need to take the HDD out of the holder. That should expose normal SATA connectors on the actual drive.
After that, it's just another drive. Just a bit slower than a regular 3.5" desktop drive.

You will need to reinstall the OS and everything else.

You should be able to use it on your system. Just don't expect to boot properly. You will need to reinstall OS in case you want to use the drive as a boot one. In case you want to use the drive just as a storage one, you can just attach it and access the data stored on it. Any programs/games should be reinstalled.
Is this a SATA HDD? What is the model of the drive?
You just need SATA and power cables in order to attach the HDD to your new computer.
