Hi, I installed windows 10 on my computer and it's a bitch and kept screwing everything up (MSI CR640 laptop) and I've wiped everything and reinstalling Windows 7 now I'm getting a error that is

"An operating system wasn't found. Try disconnecting any drives that don't contain an operation system. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart"

I've tried rapidly tapping F4/F8/F9/F10/F10 and Del to enter the bios but it's in fastboot and I'm not able too and it's got no operating system so I can't do anything inside that. Help?

Which I've got no idea how to do that. It's my fathers laptop which he is having issues with and I've silly done this. Would it be possible if I just plugged in a different harddrive that already contained windows on it?

well if it doesn't recognize the current drive as the boot device then changing drives wont help

second you will have issue with any windows not installed directly on the device its going to operate on.

question did you do an automatic install or did you manually set up partitions?
where did you get the windows 7 install media from?
did you try pushing f2? some laptops use f2 for the bios entry.

The current drive has nothing on it. I was wiping it and everything froze so I restarted the computer and I got the error. I've put windows 7 on a bootable USB but it doesn't recognize it as the laptop is running in fastboot and doesn't show any other USBs. I know this as a fact as I had to disable fastboot last time to install a operating system for him. I'm trying to run a windows 7 disc now and making a new rebootable windows 10 usb.

I don't really wish to take apart the Laptop as it isn't mine and is still under warranty. I don't know how I'm going to explain how I screwed it up when they've asked me to fix it.

ok got your manual up. you should be trying to push del key to get into bios. even try holding key down as you push the power button turning it on.

yes if fast boot is enabled your manual says it skips all other boot devices besides the hdd so you have to get into the bios to disable it. if you decide you cannot get into the bios and don't want to do the following you need to take it to a repair shop and pay them to do it.

there should be an access cover on the bottom to upgrade ram and stuff according to you manual. your manual doesn't say how it comes off but based off one picture I found should be six screws. usually the battery is in there. removing the access cover is not something that directly violates warranty's that I have ever seen. now you playing in there with a powered up laptop yes but if the battery is removed and the power cable unplugged you should be fine

If your not confident in going forward then take it to a shop and "pay them to install an os for you" give them the media and code and let them do it.

Nothing worked, would fast boot also boot from a CD drive if that hard drive isn't working? I've got a windows 7 CD lying around.
