Laptop has no picture on the screen

Hello everyone. I have an HP Pavilion DV9700-1035, and when I turn it on there is no picture coming up. No splash screen nothing, just the light coming on on the bottom of the screen. I've tried hooking it up to another monitor, using HDMI, and it won't show up on there, after I tried switching sources using the function key. Everything I've found online talks about the graphics card going bad, and I've tried those fixes, but that didn't fix my problem, and upon further research, those displays were not getting even the light at the bottom of the screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a dead GPU. Problem is not much can be done to trouble shoot or check being as it is a laptop.

So you don't think it could be the backlight or the inverter?

I dont think backlight since it wouldnt let you project the image onto another screen.

Now the inverter is another possibility....but again I do not think it would stop you from using another screen. The problem is you cant really do too much troubleshooting on your own and will likely have to take it to a professional.
