Laptop has slow ethernet

I normally use my wifi on my laptop and ethernet on my desktop but my desktop is having ethernet issues so I thought I'd use my laptop to help troubleshoot. However, when I use ethernet with my laptop it's so slow there basically is no internet. Webpages either say "no internet" or load forever and stay blank. If I have both ethernet and wifi running then they're both uselessly slow but if I disable/unplug the ethernet the wifi goes back to normal but the vice versa isn't true, the ethernet is slow no matter what.

I'm using Ethernet and it normally just says "No Internet access" but after I try a bunch of solutions from the above sites it has just started working twice and stayed that way until the computer went to sleep. Obviously I want a more permanent solution and I also can't replicate the success ever, at the moment nothing it fixing it even temporarily.

but I get all the same errors "cannot connect to DHCP" in CMD when I do ipconfig /renew but the DHCP service is running and the adapter is set to acquire IPs automatically

and "plug in cable" and "ethernet 3 does not have a valid ip" in the trouble shooter

"No Internet access" on the status page and "unidentified network" on the adapter list.
