Question Laptop & HDD Caddy

Greetings.

I currently own a Lenovo Ideapad 110-15ISK laptop. Seeing that the SSD prices have dropped recently, I have decided on buying a Samsung EVO 860 SSD to upgrade my current HDD (about 100$ for 500GB). I'm planning on putting the SSD in the place of my current drive and use it for Windows, while I plan to buy a caddy to swap out the DVD drive and put the HDD there (can't remember the last time I used a CD/DVD. I'd rather have more disk space), to use half of it as storage and the other half for Linux.

However the problem is that in stores around my town I can only buy a 9.5mm caddy. And after looking up for my laptops DVD drive on the internet, its height is only 9mm. How should I proceed now? Should I instead order a caddy online that's 9mm? Or maybe try my luck with a 9.5mm caddy from the local store, hoping it actually fits? Thanks in advance.

You could bring your DVD drive and compare it with the one at the local store.
Also, ask the local store associate if you can return it if it does not fit your laptop, otherwise get it from an online vendor.

9.5mm caddy wont' fit a 9mm drive bay. I've tried it before. Order online.
