Laptop HDD problem

So i recently opened up a old laptop that was broken to take the hdd out and backup files i backed up all important files. Then the drive stopped working. Its a laptop HDD and it didnt move at all when powered. On disk managment its there but unallocated and offline, not initialized, and its unknown. On a third party application its also read buts states its read only. every tool i used gives me access denied. Any help

Hi there alanissak320,

Don't try to initialize it as it could be data destructive.
I would also advise you to try to recover the data when connected via SATA.

I turned out that the bridge i used wouldn't work well directly connected worked fine. I guess the bridge was faulty

Glad you sorted this out.
Faulty bridge board is a common problem when talking about external hard drives.
